As of August 26, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 38.2 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 9.87 mln ha, or 68% of the plan. The average yield totaled 3.91 t/ha, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. At the same time, on the same date last year the production volumes reached 37 mln tonnes.
In particular, agrarians started harvesting corn. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 8 thsd tonnes of the grain throughout 3 thsd ha. The average yield reached 3.32 t/ha.
Also, Ukraine harvested 60 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 46 thsd ha (31%). The average yield totaled 1.29 t/ha (in 2015 – 1.23 t/ha). Agrarians harvested millet throughout 47 thsd ha (46%). The production volumes totaled 87 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 1.84 t/ha (1.97 t/ha).
Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine harvested 71 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed throughout 37 thsd ha, with the average yield of 1.89 t/ha. The forecast of sunflower areas total 5.9 mln ha.
Also, agrarians planted winter rapeseed throughout 419 thsd ha, or 58% of the planned areas (in 2015 — 185 thsd ha).
