India increased the imports of sunflower and rapeseed oils

According to Oil World analysts, in July 2016 India increased the imports of sunflower oil to 134 thsd tonnes, against 122 thsd tonnes in July 2015, as well as rapeseed oil - 66 thsd tonnes (31 thsd tonnes).

At the same time, the country lowered the general imports of vegetable oil to 1.12 mln tonnes, against 1.5 mln tonnes in the same month last year, due to significant reduction of palm oil purchases to 570 thsd tonnes (970 thsd tonnes). The imports of soybean oil remained at the last year level - 349 thsd tonnes.

Generally, in October-July of 2015/16 MY the imports of vegetable oils to India totaled 12.51 mln tonnes, against 11.66 mln tonnes in the same period of the previous season. In particular, the supplies of palm oil totaled 7.23 mln tonnes (7.67 mln tonnes), soybean oil - 3.6 mln tonnes (2.11 mln tonnes), sunflower oil - 1.32 mln tonnes (1.36 mln tonnes), rapeseed oil - 272 thsd tonnes (307 thsd tonnes).

This culminated in numerous international report publications, being quoted in various business press (Bloomberg, DowJones, Reuters, Economic Times, etc.), invited as a guest speaker at various global events and nominated as Top Energy analyst in the country.

Previous work experience also includes renowned organizations as Unit Trust of India (UTI) Commodities and internship in commodities with Karvy Comtrade, India.

Education - a Commerce Graduate with Masters in Management Studies (Specialisation in Finance and a Rank Holder in Economics) - from Mumbai University and Diploma holder in Supply Chain Management - from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
