According to the State Statistics Service, in January-August of 2016 Ukraine exported agricultural products at the sum of 9.1 bln USD, or 40.1% of the general national exports, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on October 24.
According to the announcement, grain crops (3.6 bln USD), food preparations (1.4 bln USD), fruits and seeds of oil plants (0.7 bln USD), residues and wastes from the food industry (0.6 bln USD) took the leading share in the structure of agricultural exports from Ukraine.
At the same time, in the reporting period Ukraine imported agricultural products at 2.5 bln USD, or 10.3% of the general imports to the country. Food preparations (1.1 bln USD), products of vegetable origin (0.9 bln USD), fish and crustaceans (0.2 bln USD) form the basis of agricultural imports to the country.
As a result, in January-August period the balance of foreign trade with agricultural products totaled +6.6 bln USD.
