In terms of forecasting of grain crops production in 2020, in addition to the traditional climatic and economic aspects, APK-Inform analysts faced such atypical impact factor, as the global quarantine. Of course, it provided the certain impact on formation of the crop areas structure and development of the planting campaign rates, but to date it is still difficult to estimate the general scope of impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the grain market. At the same time, the current estimations of the new crop harvest are still optimistic, the planting campaign continues developing quite actively, and the focus started somewhat shifting from the risks of the pandemic to the weather risks.
