On March 5-6, a key event in the field of transport logistics in Kazakhstan took place in Astana at the Rixos Astana hotel - the international conference KAZAKHSTAN TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS FORUM: TRANSIT POTENTIAL AND INFRASTRUCTURE.
More than 120 delegates from 12 countries took part in the forum.
The forum presented the latest achievements and prospects for the development of the transport infrastructure of Kazakhstan, a country playing a key role in the transit processes of the Central Asian region.

The meeting began with welcome coffee and communication in a relaxed atmosphere. Then we moved on to Session 1-1, which was moderated by Kanat Kobessov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of NurZholCompany LLP, Chairman of the Board of the National Association of Exporters "KazGrain".
Roman Dedkov, CEO of the organizing company RDL group , delivered a welcoming speech to the participants.
The Session was opened by ALKAN ALİCİK, Executive Director of MSC Georgia (MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company), with the topic “Middle-Corridor Opportunities: From a Global Shipping Line Perspective”.
Afterwards, Aizhan Beiseyeva, Advisor for the Development of Transport Corridors at the USAID Trade Program in Central Asia, spoke, highlighting the prospects for the development of the Trans-Caspian Corridor.
Next we listened to Yew Ming Leng, General Director of KPMC Ltd. (KTZ-PSA Middle Corridor). He spoke about the role of the global terminal operator as a link along the Middle Corridor.
Kairat Kaliolla, Chief Manager of the Transport Logistics Department of the Port of Aktau, described in detail the role of the Aktau port in the system of international transport corridors.
Session 1-1 was completed by Vincent Hascoet, CIS Intermodal and Strategic Business Development Expert at HHLA Project Logistics (HHLA Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG). He spoke about the transportation of goods along the TITR route, focusing on project cargo.
After the coffee break, the forum continued with the second part of the first session, which was opened by Liliana Krutonog, General Director of MALBI-trans, with the topic “Opportunities of European forwarders for transportation along the Middle Corridor”.
Alibek Utegenov, Executive Director for Marketing and Logistics of the Kuryk Port, continued, talking about the development of the port in the system of international corridors.
Right after him, Berik Bulekbaev, President of the Association "Partnership on Transport and Logistics in Central Asia", spoke, introducing the public to the development and relationship of railway infrastructure with port complexes.
This was followed by a speech by Frank Shao, Owner of TIEDADA GROUP, during which he spoke about the experience of TDD and BUYBIG in creating a new logistics center in the center of the continent.
The Session was concluded by Azamat Tokanov, Commercial Director of TRANSLOGICOM, revealing the transit potential and trade turnover of Eurasian countries.
At the end of lunch, the participants returned to the hall for Session 2 - International railway transportation: new services and routes.
It was opened by Altynbek Akylbekov, Deputy Head of the Branch and Head of Logistics Department in Kazakhstan and Central Asia at DB Cargo Eurasia, presenting the products of DB Cargo Eurasia GmbH.
Guoqi Hao, General Director of CRCT Kazakhstan, continued by discussing the current situation and prospects for the China-EU rail link and the Caspian Sea crossing.
Erbol Aksakalov, Director of the Department of Transport and Logistics of KAZPHOSPHATE LLP, raised the topic of the role of the mineral fertilizer market in the development of transit potential. He also described KAZPHOSPHATE’s experience in the development of railway infrastructure and cargo transportation.
Madina Akhmedzhanova, Director of Kusto Logistics, spoke next and spoke about export of grain products in containers, as well as the prospects for containerization of Kazakh exports.
Rauan Pirmanov, Managing Director of NurZholCompany LLP, spoke on the topic “Multimodal transportation: services for cargo owners, reserves for improving the quality of service, integrated solutions in logistics.”
The session was continued by Marat Akbol , CEO of SKYVISION, with the topic of Kazakhstan as the main center of trade and logistics between China and the TITR countries.
At the end of the second session, Gaidar Abdikerimov, Secretary General of the International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" (TITR), made a presentation on the current status and prospects for the development of the TITR route.
After a short coffee break, we moved on to the final, third Session - Digitalization and transformation of services and routes, moderated by Ramia Saraeva, General Director of the Association of Kazakhstan Railway Carriers and member of Kazlogistic.
Session 3 was opened by Daniyar Duissemaliyev, Managing Director of TIS SERVISE, which sponsored the session. Daniyar spoke about the automated transportation management system - automated control system.
Then Ramiya Saraeva, General Director of the Association of Kazakhstan Railway Carriers and member of Kazlogistic, highlighted the role of Kazakhstan in international transport logistics and integration into leading international digital products.
Yeong Wee Tan, CEO of Global DTC Pte Ltd (A Member of the PSA Group), also spoke about the topic of digitalization, but with an emphasis on logistics processes along the Middle Corridor route.
The speeches were completed by Kairat Tapalov, Deputy General Director of SMARTLOG. He spoke about the experience of the SMARTLOG company and the advantages of using management systems for wagon and container fleets in international cargo transportation.
The forum participants spent the evening at the gala dinner talking, making new acquaintances and discussing projects.
The second day of the forum began with an excursion to the Translogicom LLP terminal, where the work of a private station for transshipment of goods (truck/container, wagon/container) was presented.
Next, there was a presentation and acquaintance with the International Association of Entrepreneurs KIT, which has more than 300 residents, 90% of whom are business owners from the logistics and export industries, construction, education, retail and others.
The forum concluded with a presentation on attracting direct investment from Serikov Alemkhan, General/IT Director of ALEM INVEST GROUP.
