The analytical center at Rusagrotrans JSC revised its forecast of grain production in Russia up by 3.1 mln tonnes to 127.5 mln tonnes, declared the Head of the center, Igor Pavensky on August 10.

“We raised the forecast of wheat crop by 3.5 mln tonnes to 81 mln tonnes. Barley production was revised up by 0.4 mln tonnes to 20.3 mln tonnes on higher yield in central regions. At the same time, we lowered our forecast of corn crop by 0.8 mln tonnes to 14 mln tonnes due to the lack of precipitations in Central FD and Stavropol Territory and drought in the south of Volga FD”, - he pointed out.

I.Pavensky added that Central FD could harvest the record 39.2 mln tonnes of grains, up 7.3 mln tonnes compared to the previous maximum of 2017.

“Grain production will reach 29.3 mln tonnes in Volga FD, up 6.7 mln tonnes compared to 2019 that will be the second highest crop on record after 2017 (30.6 mln tonnes)”- he added.

The overall grain output will be the second largest in Russia in 2020 after the record of 2017 (135.5 mln tonnes).
