Ukraine has harvested 30 mln tonnes of grain

According to the operational data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of 12 September, grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine were harvested from a total area of 7.222 mln ha, which is 65% of the planned area. The gross grain harvest is estimated at 30.085 mln tonnes with an average yield of 41.7 centners per hectare.

It should be noted that as of September 14 last year, 29.456 mln tonnes of grain and leguminous crops were harvested from 6.763 mln hectares (62% of the forecast). The average yield was 43.6 centners per hectare.

Currently, harvesting of late grain crops continues, in particular:

  • maize - 1.103 mln tonnes from 255.3 thousand hectares (6%) at a yield of 43.2 c/ha;
  • buckwheat - 88.2 thousand tonnes from 56.2 thousand hectares (63%) with a yield of 15.7 c/ha;
  • millet - 110.43 thousand tonnes from 56.8 thousand hectares (61%) with a yield of 19.5 centners per hectare.

As for oilseed crops, the harvest figures are as follows:

  • sunflower - 2.975 mln tonnes from 1.5 mln ha (30% of the plan) with a yield of 19.8 centners/ha;
  • rapeseed - 3.415 mln tonnes from 1.266 mln ha (100%) with a yield of 27 centners/ha;
    soybeans - 1.845 mln tonnes from 909.5 thousand hectares (34%) with a yield of 20.3 centners per hectare.

Also in Ukraine continues harvesting of sugar beet, which as of September 12 was dug on 16.2 thousand hectares, 741.5 thousand tonnes with a yield of 458.5 c/ha.
