According to OleoScope analysts, for the first five months of 2024/25 MY (September-January) Russia exported 3.22 mln tonnes of vegetable oils, which is 15% more than in the same period of the previous season.
In particular, the volume of sunflower oil exports increased by 26% to 2.34 mln tonnes, the share of this product in the structure of vegetable oils exports amounted to more than 70%. The main buyers are India (1.04 mln tonnes) and Turkey (435 thousand tonnes).
Exports of soybean oil for the period under review decreased by 21% to 263 thousand tonnes. The leaders in soybean oil purchases were India (145 thousand tonnes) and Algeria (63 thousand tonnes). Exports of rapeseed oil in September-January of the season-24/25 amounted to 619 thousand tonnes (+3% against the season-23/24). More than 90% of this volume was shipped to China.
Total exports of vegetable meal for the reporting period are estimated at 1.57 mln tonnes, which is 10% lower than in the first five months of MY 2023/24. Thus, sunflower meal exports for the season amounted to 1.05 mln tonnes (3% lower than in MY 2023/24). The main buyers were Turkey (576 thousand tonnes) and Belarus (217 thousand tonnes).
Export volumes of soybean meal for the period under review amounted to 253 thousand tonnes (-34%). The leaders in purchases were Belarus (129 thousand tonnes) and Uzbekistan (52 thousand tonnes).
In addition, 258 thousand tonnes of rapeseed meal were exported in the first five months of the season (-4%). The main buyers are China (126 thousand tonnes) and Israel (54 thousand tonnes).
