According to JSC “NC “Қазақстан темiр жолы”, Kazakhstan's grain export from the new harvest reached 7 million tonnes between September 2024 and April 13, 2025. This is an increase of 35.2% compared to the same period last season (4.6 million tonnes), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported on April 16.
Central Asian countries remain the main destinations for Kazakhstan’s grain export. Shipments to Uzbekistan increased by 23.5%, from 2 million tonnes to 2.6 million tonnes. Export to Tajikistan rose by 33.7%, from 681,000 tonnes to 1,027,000 tonnes; to Afghanistan - by 26%, (from 198,000 tonnes to 267,000 tonnes); and to Kyrgyzstan - by 49.7% (from 83,000 tonnes to 165,000 tonnes).
A significant increase in export was also recorded to Iran and Azerbaijan. Kazakhstan’s grain shipments to Iran rose 15.2 times, from 54,000 tonnes to 825,000 tonnes. Export to Azerbaijan surged 99.4 times, from 5,000 tonnes to 497,000 tonnes.
