According to the results of the spring sowing campaign in Ukraine, 7.2 mln ha of oilseeds and almost 5.6 mln ha of grains and legumes were sown, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine reports.
In particular, farmers sowed more than 99% of the projected areas of spring grains and legumes:
corn - 3,928 thsd ha (100.4% of the projected area);
barley - 783 thsd ha (95.7%);
wheat - 252.7 thsd ha (102.6%);
oats - 163.7 thsd ha (100.7%);
peas - 162.5 thsd ha (101.6%);
buckwheat - 100.8 thsd ha (80.7%);
millet - 69.7 thsd ha (81.8%).
Among oilseeds, sunflower is planted on almost 5.19 mln ha (98% of the planned area), and soybeans - on 2.032 mln ha (102%).
Sugar beet was sown on the area of 250.1 thsd ha (97% of the plan).
