According to the operational data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of 24 October, grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine were harvested from a total area of 9.757 mln ha, which is 88% of the planned area (11.116 mln ha). Gross grain harvest is estimated at 45.08 mln tonnes with an average yield of 46.2 c/ha.
At the same time on October 26 last year, 43.366 mln tonnes of grain and leguminous crops were harvested from 8.85 mln hectares (81% of the forecast). The average yield on this date was estimated at 49 c/ha.
Currently, harvesting of late grain crops continues, in particular:
- corn - 15.415 mln tonnes from 2.69 mln hectares (67% of the planned) at a yield of 57.2 c/ha;
- buckwheat - 126.9 thousand tonnes from 87.5 thousand hectares (98%) with a yield of 14.5 centners per hectare;
- millet - 159.45 thousand tonnes from 85.1 thousand hectares (92%) with a yield of 18.7 centners per hectare.
As for oilseed crops, harvesting of sunflower and soybeans continues, the indicators for this date are as follows:
- sunflower - 9.54 mln tonnes from 4.63 mln hectares (94% of the plan) with a yield of 20.6 c/ha;
- soybeans - 5.621 mln tonnes from 2.47 mln hectares (93%) with a yield of 22.7 centners per hectare.
Ukraine is also harvesting sugar beet, which as of 24 October was dug on 170.6 thousand hectares (66% of the planned), 8.26 mln tonnes with a yield of 484.2 c/ha.
