Shipments of Kazakh grain for export decreased in all directions – APK-Inform Asia

At the beginning of March 2024 rail transportation of Kazakh grain cargo for export has decreased in all directions. This is reported by the weekly APK-Inform Asia with reference to official statistics.

Thus, in the period from February 28 to March 3, shipments to China decreased most significantly – to 19.4 thsd tonnes, which is 59% lower than the figure for February 22-28, 2024

Only 64.23 thsd tonnes of Kazakh grain cargo were shipped to the top importer Uzbekistan (-34%).

Also, shipments of Kazakh grain exports to Afghanistan decreased by 34% (to 3.3 thsd tonnes).

Exports to Italy decreased by almost 20%, to 10.6 thsd tonnes.

During the period from February 28 to March 3, 24.3 thsd tonnes of Kazakh grain cargo were sent to Tajikistan by rail compared to 27.3 thsd tonnes a week earlier (-11%).

In other export directions, shipments of Kazakh grains decreased by 60%.
