According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of May 30, Ukraine planted 5.505 mln ha of spring grains and pulses, or 96.4% of the planned area (5.601 mln ha).
“Over the past week, the growth of grain and leguminous crops amounted to 104.8 thsd ha,” the Ministry said in a statement.
In terms of crops, the dynamics of sowing as of the specified date is as follows:
wheat - 252.5 thsd ha, or 102.6% of the plan (246.1 thsd ha);
barley - 782.6 thsd ha, or 95.7% of the plan (818 thsd ha);
peas - 162.5 thsd ha, or 101.6% of the plan (159.9 thsd ha);
Oats - 163.7 thsd ha, or 100.7% of the plan (162.7 thsd ha);
corn - 3.895 mln ha, or 99.6% of the plan (3.912 mln ha);
Buckwheat - 97.7 thsd ha, or 78.3% of the plan (124.8 thsd ha);
millet - 63.6 thsd ha, or 74.6% of the plan (85.3 thsd ha);
other grains and legumes - 87.3 thsd ha, or 94.5% of the plan (92.4 thsd ha).
As for oilseeds, as of May 31, Ukraine planted 5.124 mln ha of sunflower, or 96.9% of the planned area (5.288 mln ha), and 1.932 mln ha of soybeans, or 97.1% of the planned 1.99 mln ha.
