As of the end of October, less than 10% of the area under grain remained to be threshed in Ukraine

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of October 31, Ukraine harvested grains and pulses from a total area of 10.141 mln ha, which is 91% of the planned area (11.116 mln ha). The gross grain harvest is estimated at 47.972 mln tonnes with an average yield of 47.3 c/ha.

At the same time, as of November 2 last year, 47.184 mln tonnes of grains and pulses were harvested from 9.33 mln ha (86% of the forecast). The average yield as of that date was estimated at 50.6 c/ha.

The harvesting of late grain crops is currently underway, in particular

  • corn - 18.293 mln tonnes from 3.07 mln ha (76% of the target) with a yield of 59.5 c/ha
  • buckwheat - 126.9 thsd tonnes from 87.6 thsd ha (98%) with a yield of 14.5 c/ha
  • millet - 160.15 thsd tonnes from 85.9 thsd ha (92%) with the yield of 18.6 c/ha.

As for the oilseeds, the harvesting of sunflower and soybeans is in progress. The figures as of the specified date are as follows:

  • sunflower - 9.599 mln tonnes from 4.67 mln hectares (94% of the plan) with a yield of 20.6 c/ha;
  • soybeans - 5.73 mln tonnes from 2.52 mln ha (95% of the plan) with a yield of 22.7 c/ha.

In addition, Ukraine is harvesting sugar beet, which as of October 31 was dug on 195.4 thousand hectares (76% of the planned), yielding 9.455 mln tonnes at 483.8 c/ha.
