Kyrgyzstan has fully completed the harvest of wheat and barley, with the gross harvest of these crops more than 50% higher than last year. This is evidenced by the data of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Wheat harvesting was completed on an area of 240.5 thsd ha (+37.8 thsd ha by 2023). The gross harvest amounted to 722.1 thsd tonnes, up 248.2 thsd tonnes compared to last year. The average yield was recorded at 30 cwt/ha (+6.6 cwt/ha).
Barley was harvested on an area of 245.9 thsd ha, up 44.6 thsd ha compared to last year. The gross harvest amounted to 638.3 thsd tonnes (+214 thsd tonnes). The yield is 26 c/ha, which is 4.9 c/ha higher than last year.
In general, as of November 4, 2024, grain crops were harvested on the area of 638.5 thsd ha, which is 95.6% of the total area. This is 188.1 thsd ha more than last year.
Corn (grain) was harvested on 88.1 thsd ha (80.1%). The yield is 69.3 centners per hectare, up 1.2 centners per hectare compared to the same period last year. The gross harvest amounted to 610.7 thsd tonnes, up 33.9 thsd tonnes compared to 2023.
Pulses were harvested on an area of 52.3 thou hectares (98.3%). The yield is 14.8 c/ha, up 1.9 c/ha compared to last year. The gross harvest reached 77.3 thsd tonnes, up 12.3 thsd tonnes compared to 2023.
Oilseeds were harvested on an area of 13.2 thsd ha (92%), yielding 11 c/ha and gross harvest of 14.5 thsd tonnes.
Sugar beet harvested from 9.1 thsd ha. The average yield is 623.2 c/ha, which is 155.1 c/ha higher than in 2023. Gross harvest was recorded at the level of 568.5 thsd tonnes, which is 219.8 thsd tonnes more compared to the same period last year.
