With less than a month to go until the “Baltic Grains & Oils Conference” in Riga on April 16-17, it's the perfect time to dive deeper into the program and speakers.
The first session on April 16 will focus on trends in global agricultural trade. Top global experts, invited as speakers, will highlight the grain and oilseed markets.
Monika Tothova, Senior Economist FAO, will explore the macroeconomic aspects of the development of Europe's agri-food market, telling about global and regional factors that influence it.
Alexander Artyushin from Weather & AgRisk Partners, Munich Re will present the topic: “Instability of agricultural production in Europe: adapting to changing climate.”
Filippo Bertuzzi, the Senior Market Analyst at Areté (Agrifood Intelligence Company), will give a presentation on the European wheat market (soft and durum): supply and demand on the world market, trade trends, challenges of the season.
Bohdan Kostetsky, Operating partner, Barva Invest, will tell about Ukrainian market of grains and oilseeds in 2024/25 MY: trade trends, main logistics chains.
During the conference, we will also discuss prospects for the supply of grains and oilseeds from Kazakhstan to the European market through the European ports of the Baltic Sea (durum wheat, hi-pro, flax).
The session will conclude with a presentation by the director of the Union “Millers of Ukraine,” Rodion Rybchynskyi, who will discuss the export trade of processed grain products through European ports, including prospects, opportunities, and challenges.
