Russia has significantly stepped up exports of wheat flour to key markets for Kazakhstan. Thus, Afghanistan has been the largest importer of Russian flour for two years in a row. In January-July 2024, shipments in this direction increased to 270 thsd tonnes, which is more than 5 times higher than last year.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan is gradually reducing the supplies of wheat flour to Afghanistan. According to APK-Inform, referring to the official statistics, in 6 months of the current year, the country shipped 569.5 thsd tonnes of Kazakh wheat flour. For the same period of 2023, the figure amounted to 576.4 thsd tonnes, and in 2022 - 603.6 thsd tonnes.
